Are you a Cycling Group Exercise Addict?

If you are a Fitness First club member, Cycling, also known as Cosmic Cycling, has been one of the most popular group exercise next to Body Jam and Body Combat. If you are sick and tired of running the treadmill plus the other cardio machines in the gym, cycling is an efficient fat burning workout when done regularly.

It can be fun because like any Aerobic class, every move is choreographed by the instructor - ups, downs, forward, back and side to side. The music sets your rythm, your movement. Just hope the instructor picks the right song for the occassion . Cycling can also make you a major cardio addict. Which is good right? Continue reading the rest.

People who have attested that this form of cardiovascular exercise can help lose weight at the same time keep you in shape. It can also be exhilaratingly fun, with a lot of people around you sharing the same torture of a hard workout like you do, of course, it would also depend on the kind of instructor you have. A cycling class, in the long run, and if you attend the same schedule all week, everybody becomes familiar with each other and its an almost automatic occurrence that some of you will socially drift toward each other.

But an addiction forms and only people who attend this class for a long time can recognize the symptoms of a legitimate cycling addict. Classes of a really good instructor can be fully occupied. Do you wake up early in the morning or come an hour before class to get a number so you can be assured of a seat? Not only that, you get the number, come in line first and get your favorite bike.

You have become all of a sudden, territorial. Do you make your child wake up the same hour as you do, you become paranoid of the time and rush your child to school? Chances are you already need a rehab.

Do you attend cycling classes almost everyday? Maybe 2 to 3 times, a day? Do you criticize the instructor for not making you work hard enough? Do you choose who you want to lead you thru your sessions?

You join inter-club and intra-club cycling marathons and when you don't win because you believe you have the best outfit and the best form plus the fact that you have been doing this for a long time? Chances are you ought to consult a psychiatrist.

But don't get me wrong, it is a good habit to have not until you become obsessed with it.

Sitio Remedios - be pampered the Ilocano way

Each storey in a typical two storey house will have its own living room, a bathroom and a bedroom with 1 bed 2 beds. Some rooms would have a small room for the help in case you need one for the trip for your superfluous needs. More so if you have a kid on board because the resort is not exactly child friendly. Make sure that your kids are supervised just to be sure they don’t run around and hurt themselves.

Img_3459The furniture and house design are old-fashioned, because ergonomics was just a thing of the future then. Children, if they want to play at night will need supervision because the host will serenade you with a garden full of candles, but that is on the plus side.

The candlelight ambiance will make feel relaxed as you enjoy your Ilocano dinner. Each room is fitted with an air conditioning unit for your comfort. But I’d like to suggest that you set the timer, if there’s any, of the air conditioning to last till early morning to feel the morning breeze and fresh air. But if you intend to go in the Philippine summer, the air conditioning will help you beat the heat.

The bed sheets, linens, pillow cases, table cloths and towels are needle worked, to draw attention to the Ilocano look. Img_3463_1 As a spoiler, be prepared for a midnight treat of biscocho and hot chocolate courtesy of the house, certainly a welcome delight for the Chocoholics but it’s supposed to be a surprise.

The dining area and eternity pool is located near the beach area were you can have a tranquil sight of the South China Sea while you dine or just plain skinny dipping in the pool. A Jacuzzi and a spa area is being built beside the pool area. For future visitors, it will be something to look forward to.

Overall Sitio Remedios is an experience of Philippine hospitality at its best, if you are willing to pay for it. The food, ambiance, service and experience of the Filipino heritage is worthwhile.

Sitio Remedios - an Ilocano getaway

We landed at the Laoag International Airport after an hour flight from Manila. We took a 45 minute road trip with another van in tow on the way to a haven made the Ilocano way – Sitio Remedios. 7 houses in a 1.8 hectare property (twice the size of the Asian Institute of Management in front of Greenbelt 1 in Makati City), it is much like a Village, a town at the turn of the 20th century. 3 of the houses are two-storey, the rest are bungalows with either a single bedroom or twin bedrooms. Img_3451

Each house is uniquely designed with antique furniture, dining tables, wooden living room sets, epoch fixtures such as chandeliers and picture frames and the staircases are not elaborately designed but they present a time where their imperfections is today’s perfection.

We have always described the provincial life as simple. If you are from a metropolis, then your description of the resort will be plainly – simple or uncomplicated – but definitely not backward. But Sitio Remdios cannot be described as idyllic nor rustic. For its time, the look and feel of the resort was considered urbane, cultured. For us to enjoy the serenity, it is recommended to spend some time to relax and enjoy Sitio Remedios.

The experience will not be cheap. A typical 2 storey house cost an average of US$243.00, while a bungalow with either a single room or two rooms will cost an average of US$140.00. From the pricing alone, they are positioning Sitio Remedios as a World-class resort Img_3455to showcase Filipino hospitality the Ilocano way.

If you like Ilocano cuisine, you will enjoy the bona fide, genuine taste of the popular pinoy vegetable dish – Pinakbet and a well-known deep fried liempo classic – Bagnet. You won’t be thirsty and you will get a huge dose of vitamin C because bottomless fresh dalandan or calamansi juice will be served. The meals are a bit pricey but it all depends on your food value criteria.

On a typical meal you will have a buffet style menu of three vegetable dishes with one meat dish or two. Breakfast is also buffet style served with eggs, bread, fried rice, deep fried fish and Ilocano style longganiza (Ilocano native sausage). Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, all meals are priced at US$15.00 per person.

Your Registry Editor and Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator

For all you road warriors out there, have you ever experienced the following symptoms while working? Some of your files have duplicate copies. Whenever you use your yahoo messenger (YM) you send out some asian language speak to your friends and it turned out to be a virus. You then attempt to search for a cure that recommends you to use the registry editor and when you type regedit in the run box, it says that your Registry editor has been disabled by your administrator. You then try to find a registry editor in a free download site and when you try to download it shuts down your browser whether IE or Firefox. Your computer freezes and you try to reboot using the task manager.

Your anti-virus application don't work, and when you try to open your task manager, it says that the application has been disabled by your administrator. There are so many recommendations in the Internet for a way out of this mess. But as you go deeper into the problem, like I did for the past 3 days and believe me, we tried everything out there, there is probably one solution to this problem. Your computer has been infected by a ravmone and a sscvihost.exe application or simply called a worm virus.

The key is to deactivate sscvihost.exe so you can use the registry editor to remove the other sscvihost.exe, ravmone and autorun.ini files that have infected your registry. You can search thru the trendmicro site for the processexplorer.exe tool on zip file, download, run it and right click on sscvihost.exe and then click on the kill the application tab. Now you can start to manually clean up your registry. I recommend that you use Symantec's Norton Anti-Virus (W32.Imaun) so you can detect and remove the virus. And don't forget to scan your other files or external hard drive or even your flash drive, they might be infected. Hope this helps.
