Practical Wifi Places in Manila

You are a road warrior. Do you need to check an important email? Do you need to email that important document to a client? Do you need to crash somewhere and work but you need an Internet connection. In today's connected world, your laptop cannot stand alone.

There are malls and establishments that provide Free Wifi services. But to keep on working, power is everything. You need to plug-in when your starting to run out of go go juice. They do not provide you with power outlets when a laptop's power supply only consumes less that 5 watts of electricity. Worse is some establishments will charge you Php50.00 per hour when you charge your power cell. So here are some practical sites you can go to in case you need a Wifi service.

The Lina Group (owner of Airfreight 2100) has done a good job in reviving the Burger King franchise. Known for - The Whopper, plus you can also try the Hershey Pie, Burger King also has movie screenings daily every 2PM. There are outlets scattered in strategic places so you can stay longer. You can also charge you mobile phone when you need a boost for those important calls and SMS.

If you want a more comfortable atmosphere with a large TV screen with your favorite sports in tow, you can check out the National Sports Grille (NSG) at the 3rd Floor of Greenbelt 3. Try order the San Francisco Burger, their wide selection of pasta dishes and their famous chicken wings.

If you are in the Greenhills area, Krispy Krème would be a good location for those on the go. Since you've already heard and probably tasted their donuts, you have to try their Free Wifi Access. Speed is decent you just have to ask a password which they change daily. They can also accommodate you with outlets in case you need to recharge.

Robinson's mall in Ortigas and Manila, both sites offer free wifi access BUT not all establishments are willing to give you access to their outlets or they don't have any at all for customers. The best place for you to go to is Starbucks Coffee for comfort and accommodation.

Is there a good map of WiFi hotspots in Manila? What do people use? By the way, it would be great if you or other people would mark free WiFi hotspots. I am an advisor to WeFi which allows people to map spots. Give it a try and see if it works.
